Tapu – the certificate of ownership issued by the Land Registry Office upon the transfer of ownership rights. It is the main document of the owner according to Turkish law.
The client receives a red Tapu if purchasing property in a residential complex, hotel, or commercial property, and a blue Tapu if buying a land plot or garden.
All the data indicated in the TAPU.
- The address of the land plot where the acquired property is located
- A passport-sized photograph (2 color photos are required for registration)
- Information about the registration of the land plot in the land registry
- The condition of the land plot (based on information from the land registry)
- The area of the land belonging to the new owner (proportionate to the size of the purchased property)

- The condition of the property belonging to the new owner (type of ownership)
- The value of the purchased property
- Information about the previous owner(s)
- Information about the new owner(s)
- The date the property was acquired by the previous owner
- The Tapu registration number of the previous owner (changes with each transfer of ownership)
- Registration details of the new Tapu document
- The date the property was acquired by the new owner
- The signature of the authorized person and the seal of the land registry office
The buyer receives the Tapu upon making the final payment at the Land Registry Office. All real estate transactions are controlled at the state level and take place in the government institution - the Land Registry and Cadastre General Directorate (Tapu ve Kadastro Genel Müdürlüğü).
At the Land Registry Office, you can obtain all information about the property, verify the real owners of the property, and check for any encumbrances or debts on the property.
