Going to the market becomes an additional entertainment for many tourists. Here you are immersed in an oriental atmosphere, where Turkish vendors offer everything to try and lure customers with loud shouts, and the stalls are bursting with fresh fruits, berries, herbs and vegetables. It's hard to leave empty-handed, especially given the extremely attractive prices.
Farmers' markets in Alanya are held daily, but in different neighborhoods. They usually operate from early morning, around 8-9 AM, until late evening, until it gets dark. Payment is typically accepted in cash, preferably in Turkish lira. However, progress is being made, and increasingly, terminals are becoming available.
Prices are often displayed on signs, but sometimes you need to ask. In any case, the quality of the products is higher, and the cost is lower than in supermarkets. You can choose the items yourself or ask the vendor to do it for you.
At the market, you can buy not only fresh fruits and vegetables but also dairy products, bulk olive oil, honey from local beekeepers, bulk olives, pomegranate sauce, pekmez, herbs, spices, and dried fruits. There are also a few stalls with textiles and clothing, but you can find more interesting and cheaper items elsewhere in the city.
