The main advantage of Alanya is the large selection of public beaches, wild and equipped, both in the city limits and in the suburbs. In general, almost all beaches can be reached by car and public transportation.
Cleopatra (Kleopatra)
One of the most stunning beaches not only in Alanya but also in Turkey. It is among the top best beaches in Europe, marked with the "Blue Flag," confirming its cleanliness and safety. The beach stretches almost 3 km long. It is located in the very center of the city, near the Archaeological Museum and the Funicular.
The beach is considered unique due to its very fine pebbles, which resemble sand. This makes the sea here have unusual shades and very clear, and the entry is convenient. Only in some places, you should be more careful not to encounter rocks. According to legend, the sand was brought from Egypt by the Roman general Mark Antony as a gift to his beloved, the Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
You can find equipped paid areas with sunbeds and cafes, or you can sunbathe with your umbrella and towel. On Cleopatra Beach, there are several cozy cafes, children's and sports grounds, outdoor gyms, and tennis courts.
The most picturesque view of the fortress, which is also illuminated in the dark, opens near the Damlataş cave. But the farther from the center, the fewer people there are.
Iotape (Iotape)
To reach this picturesque secluded beach, you need to drive about 35 km from Alanya towards Gazipaşa Airport, using the old coastal road. Even during the season, there are usually not many people here. The beach is almost unadorned, except for a café with pavilions where you can have lunch. However, the sea here is stunning, and the bottom, covered with fine pebbles and sand, is comfortable for swimming with children. Nearby are the ruins of the ancient city of Iotape.
Koru (Koru beach)
The Koru beach is a quirky coastline with stone slabs forming natural pools filled with sea water. The beach looks especially striking in the pre-sunset rays. It is a wild, unserviced beach. The distance from the center of Alanya is 50 km.
Aysultan (Aysultan)
The Aysultan beach is considered a women-only beach, where entry is prohibited for men over 9 years old. However, during the off-season, anyone can relax here. The beach lacks infrastructure, which is offset by its beauty, with a mix of sandy shores and picturesque cliffs. It is located 36 km from Alanya.
Incekum (Incekum)
Incekum Beach is known for its very gentle slope: for a few minutes, you can walk knee-deep in the water before it becomes deep enough. The beach is covered with golden sand, which makes it popular among families with small children. The infrastructure is simple, but even so, during the peak summer season, the beach is barely visible due to the number of tourists. It is located 23 km from Alanya. Near the equipped beach, there is also a picnic area in a pine forest where you can swim as well.
Perge (Perge)
Perge Beach is located on the border of two districts: Mahmutlar and Kargicak. Thanks to the fine pebbles, the water here is clear and transparent. Many people enjoy this place for its café, which serves delicious traditional Turkish dishes rather than just fast food. Children are delighted to see peacocks and other animals roaming the area.
